DMT sharpeners cannot be return for any reason once they have been used or scratched at all.  If a problem return before u try it. Once it is scratched it is covered under DMT factory warranty. If the clam pack is cut open it can not be returned, if it snaps open it is fine to return. It has to be returned in the same condition in which you received the item.
