Mihoko Fujimura, who has an outstanding career of appearing at the Bayreuth Festival for nine consecutive years, is truly regarded as the best mezzo-soprano in the world. His overwhelming singing ability and deep intellect have attracted a large audience.
This work contains a concert that co-starred with the New Japan Philharmonic in November 2013. Conductor Meyer has been the first assistant at the Bayreuth Festival since 1992, and in 2007 conducted "Tannhäuser" on behalf of Fabio Luigi. We co-starred with Fujimura in Europe and hit it off, which led to this concert. In addition to Marschner, who has few opportunities to demonstrate, the program with Wagner's masterpieces, which Fujimura is good at, has been long-awaited by many fans. The Parsifal Suite is arranged by Meyer himself. The performances of Meyer and the New Japan Philharmonic are delicate and supple, avoiding overexpression. It shows the best compatibility with Fujimura's intellectual singing.
