The Workhorse!  The 13 3/4” Jack Plane can be set to remove a large amount of material quickly, or like the smoothing plane, can be set up to remove a fine amount for truing, or gluing surfaces.  The extended length and added weight allow for longer smoother strokes, and the 2.5 mm thick blade which is hardened to approximately 62 Rockwell, allows for chatter-free planing.
