- The Young Pioneers with the Thälmann Pioneers became the Ernst Thälmann Pioneer Organisation / Pionierorganisation Ernst Thälmann.
- The insignia represents knowledge, agriculture, industry, and sports.
- In the foreground there is a runner crossing the finish line, the flag with the TP flame emblem waving in the background.
- This pin is highlighted by colorful shades of blue, yellow, white, and gray enamel.
