Luminox ICE-SAR Arctic Stainless Steel Black Dial Date Divers Quartz Mens Watch Model# XL.1202 / XL1202 made in collaboration with ICE-SAR (Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue) it features a 46 mm stainless steel case with a textured black dial with a world map motif contrasted by silver-tone carabiner-style hands, inspired by carabiners the team uses during rescue missions and white Arabic numerals in military time format. These are equipped with tritium-based luminescent tubes as well as on the bezel tip. This is complemented by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, a bi-directional rotating bezel with compass markings, and a date window at the 3 o'clock position. Touches of red are evident via the second hand, the bezel markers, the graphic surrounding the date window representing the ICE-SAR logo and coordinates of the ICE-SAR headquarters in Reykjavik at the center. A stainless steel bracelet secured by a folding clasp with safety completes the tough and stylish look. This watch has a screw-in caseback wherein underneath lies the Ronda caliber 715 Li, a Swiss quartz movement, and is water-resistant up to 200 meters/660 feet.

Founded in 1989 by American Barry Cohen who envisioned developing high-performance SPORTS watches combined with modern luminescence and legibility. Coined from the Latin words, "Lumi" meaning light, and "Nox" meaning night, Luminox watches are widely recognized for their tagline "Always Visible Technology" which is formally called "Luminox Light Technology" or "LLT". It uses safe tritium-based luminescence tubes which can give a constant glow for up to 25 years. 1992 was the breakout year for Luminox as the Assistant Officer in Charge (AOIC) for Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) for West Coast Navy Seals, Nick North, together with Barry Cohen, worked to develop a watch specifically for the Navy SEALs. This paved the way for Luminox watches to be made for the US Coast Guard, US Air Force, and a variety of other special forces and EMS teams worldwide.
