Wonderful and so nice to find, tagged, 8" tall, 1940-50s vintage, fully jointed, felt and polyvinyl acetate, (PVA early composition-like plastic) doll. This adorable, Victorian "Bustle Girl with a Parasol", NO. 901, character doll* by Old Cottage Toys, Allargate, England was designed by Greta & Susi Fleischmann and made of stuffed pink felt with jointed arms and legs and a swivel head. Shown on page 65, "A Collector's Guide to Old Cottage Toys"-Summers, she has lovely painted features with pretty dark blue eyes, eyelashes, brows, closed mouth, blushed cheeks and beautifully styled, very long dark brown hair beneath her adorable. pompon decorated straw bonnet with wide blue ribbon. She wears her adorable, white lace, Victorian party dress trimmed with matching blue-ribbon sash and neck bow, rows of ruffled lace at hem, stiff underskirt, white stockings, bustle pad and undies and white leatherette shoes and carries her matching white parasol with cane handle. She will make a wonderful addition to any collection. She is in excellent condition, with no damages or repairs, no holes or odors as she is from a smoke free home with no fading (her wooden hoop has an old repair).
