This
is a New OE Ford front axle pinion seal kit, part
number L1MZ-4676-C. This is used on the Ford Explorer from 2020 to 2022, and Lincoln Aviator from 2020 to 2023, but check with your local dealer to be
sure it fits your vehicle or send me the last 8 digits of your VIN and I
can check compatibility.
A
note about quality and terms: OE is Original Equipment (also called Genuine) - this is any
part that comes in the car makers box (Ford, Mopar, Toyota, BMW, etc)
and most times may have their logo and part number on the part. What
most people don't understand is that the car makers don't make very many
(or any) of the parts for their cars - they are made by outside
manufacturers (Bosch, Hitachi, etc), which brings me to OEM. OEM is
Original Equipment Manufacturer - these are the companies who make the
parts for the car manufacturers, the problem is the specification for an
OEM part may not even be close to OE. As an example, we had a customer
with a Mercedes who didn't want to spend the money for a factory O2
sensor so we bought a Bosch O2 (OEM) sensor and put it on and got
another check engine light. It turned out the Mercedes specs for O2
sensors are so small, that an OEM could not get within those specs and
would set a check engine light on that car. What this shows is just
because it says (or is) OEM does not mean it is good enough to compare
to OE, so decide for yourself if OE is worth the extra price.
