1896-97 Two Letters - Concerning The SHAWNEE & CREEK INDIANS In Dale, Oklahoma

Two Letters (3 Pages) written by P.M. Avrit (Paul McGonagle Avrit) to J.H. Everts.  The first letter dated Jan. 22, 1896 saying he just got back from the agency and relinquished those lands except for the approval of the chairman of the Shawnee Committee.

The second letter dated Jan. 13, 1897 saying the Creeks had sent up the authenticated roll, but claim they cannot change it now.  The children that were on the guardianship of Chisholm would have to wait to be added to the rolls.
