Up for bid is an early New York bright-cut round-end federal coin silver teaspoon by Samuel Bowne, ca 1790-1800.  The spoon is 5 1/4 inches long and weighs 9 grams. The spoon has a swaged pointed arch drop and downturned round-end handle decorated with simple bright-cut engraving with an oval cartouche. The spoon was never monogrammed.  It is marked [S.BOWNE] in a conforming rectangle.

Condition on the spoon is fair.  The bowl is badly dented and there is some tip wear, as well as normal wear of use.  It has not been buffed.  A decent early coin silver spoon!
