Issue Notice:

• In the mid - 16th. century, King Setthathirat relocated the Capital from Luang Prabang to Vientiane and ordered construction of Pra Thatluang in year 1566. It was rebuilt about 4 km from the centre of Vientiane at the end of That Luang and named Pra That Luang, the bases had a length of 69 metres each was 45 metres high, was surrounded by 30 small stupas. Pha That Luang(That Luang Stupa) is a gold - covered large Buddhist stupa in the Centre of Vientiane Capital of Laos, which was the 450th. Anniversary of Pha That Luang Stupa (1566-2016) It is generally regarded as the most important national monument in Laos and national Symbol. This issue is comprised of two special stamps, two Souvenir Sheets (perforated and non perforated) and one first day cover.
