Other:                      William James Mullins (1860-1917), born in Stubenville, Ohio, he later lived in Franklin, Pennsylvania and became a member of the Photo-Secession Group, trained as a chemist he began his career as a painter and was close friends with both Childe Hassam and Louis Comfort Tiffany.  He was included in the seminal Philadelphia Photographic Salon of 1898 which is acknowledged as the first exhibition recognizing photography as art by a major art institution.  Alfred Stieglitz included Mullins’ work in the first ‘291’ Gallery members show as well as reproduced his images in Camera Notes. At the important International Exhibition of Pictorial Photography at the Albright Art Gallery, Buffalo in 1910 he had 12 prints displayed.  Additionally, he had 12 prints included in the Camera Club of New York 1911 salon which featured his “specialty” of miniature landscapes. His works are included in the collections of the Cleveland Museum of Art, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

This image shows a lush English cottage with a castle looming

In the background.  On the verso is written in period hand,  Dr. Garmary or Garman.  Although it appears English, I do not know if Mullins traveled to Europe to make images.
