First full transcription of Jefferies's field diaries, notable for his acute observations of nature, also found in his other essays, books of natural history, and novels. Diaries were kept from 1876 to 1887. Edited with an introduction and notes by Samuel J. Looker.
Complete with unclipped dust wrapper. Two articles concerning Jefferies loosely inserted.
Illustrated with plates of facsimile.
CONDITION
In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, lightly bumped to head and tail of spine. Dust wrapper unclipped and very smart with some shelf wear, lightly chipped to extremities. internally, firmly bound. Light spotting to fore edge, not affecting leaves which remain bright and clean. Hinges have been reinforced.
