For sale is a beautiful Antique 19th century oil on canvas with the original wooden stretcher. The painting depicts a wooded scenery on a crystal clear deep winter day. Two deers at the center act as a reminder for life’s perseverance at the harshest time. They seem alerted by the very minute movements of branches. The creek flows quietly, refusing to freeze over. Given the corner key stretcher style, this is certainly an original 19th century artwork.

The painting has the best choice of color for a winter scene like this. Very well executed piled painted that highlights the texture and adds the detail.

The painting measures approximately 16” by 14”. The painting is in good condition considering its age. There is one small puncture among the tree trunks. Not too noticeable.
