For sale is a RARE DATED EXAMPLE of an 19th century American maple WOOD BUTTER PRESS STAMP or MOLD with lovely classical pineapple design. The impressed patent date is “Apr 17 1866”. Both the shell and the press are beautifully turned pieces with dry and unpolished surface. The carving is particularly deep. The wood grain on the shell is rich and smooth! See photos and zoom in.

The shell measures 4.5” in diameter and the overall height is about 6”. It is in great antique condition. No cracks. One small loss is observed on the rim of the shell. Must be an old chip as it is covered by even patina. See the last photo for detail. Age appropriate wears and imperfections are to be expected. Please see all photos for detailed condition.
