Description ------- Neat find! Super Rare, vintage, c1980s, TONY VIRAMONTES design for Printemps Department Store, Paris, France. In the early 1980s, a young Tony Viramontes was approached to create a tee which would epitomize the chic fashion of Paris and the Printemps store. He put a Napoleon hat on a model and sketched this evocative design.
Shirt is 100% cotton, white, with multicolor graphic print (soft ink printed, not plastic).
Super thin and soft Italian made cotton. It was very stained from storage when found, but never worn, nor previously washed. It has been carefully / gently soaked and washed, and is now bright and clean with just a few insignificant speckles visible at extremely close inspection.
Signed within the design, lower left.
Tag is as shown - with a moon and sun logo, Italy, 100% cotton. (Back of tag is blank)
Tagged a size XXL, vintage which runs smaller than modern XXLs - measurement of chest is about 21”to 21.5” pit to pit, unstretched, a 42 to 43 inch chest.
