Issue Notice:

The Kampot salt marshes are located in the very south, on the Cambodian coast between Kampot and Kep.
To extract sea salt, the crystal-clear seawater of the Gulf of Thailand is channeled into artificial, shallow pools, the so-called "salt gardens". Due to the sun and wind, the salt concentration increases until the salt crystallizes on the ground. The special mineral content is unique in this region and so is the salt.
Until 1930 the salt came from Kampuchea Krom (today's Mekong Delta), the "Bassac salt". Since the early 1930s, salt production has been transferred to Kampot Province. Salt producing cooperatives have existed in Kampot Province since the 1960s. Around 1,000,000 tons of salt are produced in Cambodia every year. In Kampot alone, more than 420,000ha of salt fields are registered.
The official issue date for MiNo. 2723A-2728A was 18.08.2021. Due to the pandemic, the printer did not deliver the issue to the Cambodia Post until December 28, 2021.
The FDC bear the official date of issue and the corresponding special stamp.
MiNo. 2723A-2727A was printed in a miniature sheet, KB(I), 10 pieces with a decorative field.
