CHARMING ANTIQUE MAJOLICA PLATE
Presenting a delightful antique majolica plate dating to the late 1800s and believed to be of German origins.
This fabulous piece is beautifully decorated with a charming scene depicting a mother cat watching over her playful kitten. The delightful scene is rendered in relief and finished in thick rich majolica glazes.
SIZE: This impressive piece measures approx 165mms or 6.5 inches in diameter.
CONDITION: This piece is presented in good antique condition with several minuscule fleabite sized grazes to the glaze upon the rim of the plate noticeable only upon close examination but mention for complete accuracy. There are also a couple of small dark brown stains to the rim which appear to be from where a spring metal plate hanger has been attached. This plate has been very well cared for and presents magnificently.
MARKS: This plate is marked to the reverse with the impressed numeral "118" along with an impressed makers stamp as indicated in the images.
