For sale, 1 Cocobolo lumber blank. Cocobolo is a tropical hardwood of Central American trees
belonging to the genus Dalbergia and known as dalbergia retusa. Mostly, the heartwood of Cocobolo is
used; it is usually orange or reddish-brown, often with darker irregular
traces weaving through the wood.
Cocobolo is heavy, strong, durable and resistant to preservative treatments.
Its uses include architectural woodwork, turnery, tool handles, musical
and scientific instruments and specialty items. The wood is also very
popular for use as cutlery handles. Besides its use on guns and knives, cocobolo is favored for fine
inlay work on custom, high-end cue sticks, police batons, pens, brush
backs, bowls, pipes, jewelry boxes, desktops and other expensive
specialty items.
