For sale is an antique 17th to 18th century Georgian period engraved glass intaglio. It is used to press against the melted wax seal to produce a detailed stamp pattern which acts as a form of owner’s signature. The decorative glass pieces are often embedded in a large ring or a stamping plinth made with metal or precious stone. This particular one features a highly detailed Roman soldier design. The carving is so detailed, you can see his hair curls and the pattern on his helmet. Very old and fancy work.

It is tiny. It measures approximately 3/4” in the largest diameter. Excellent condition. No damage of any kind is detected. Surface wears and imperfections are to be expected. Please study the pictures carefully for detailed condition.
