A wonderful and rare photo of the great Mike Hailwood, on the Ducati N.C.R. during the 1978 T.T. Formula 1 race on the Isle of Man. Mike would win the race and would be one of his biggest victories ever! He wrote history that day like no-one had done before in the world of motorcycle racing.

On the photo he is seen riding to victory in the T.T. F1 race on the Isle of Man in 1978. His 900 N.C.R. Ducati was tuned by Steve Wynne of Sports Motorcycles in Manchester. He tweaked an impressive 87 hp at 9.000 r.p.m. at the rear wheel out of the engine. For the T.T. race a N.C.R. engine was mounted that delivered 7 hp less.

Mike broke in 1978 the existing laprecord of Phil Read by no less then 14,4 kmph (9mph) to a new lap record of 177,097 kmph (110,686 mph). His average speed during the race was with 174,502 kmph (109,064 mph) incredibly high. He won the race with a lead of 50 seconds before Phil Read who rode a Honda four cylinder factory racer.

This is your chance to own a piece of motorcycle history, the size of the non period photo is approx. 7 x 11” so it is perfect for framing.
