For sale is an antique 19th century blacksmith hand made wrought iron container/jug to store water. It has a very unique shape with narrow top portion for the ease of picking up, and a wide bottom portion for stability. Each section is shaped separately and jointed together with rivets. The entire surface features various delicate engraved patterns with the leaves around the wide portion being most salient. The lid and the attaching hinge are all Hand hammered and decorated with small geometric knock marks. There are clear blacksmith hammering marks all over the iron surface. Very unique and exotic design which is original to South Asia (India and Himalayan region). Great even metal patina that speaks for its old age.
