Vintage Italian Ceramic Decorative Pink/Red Floral Bird Cage w/ Parrot and Door
Beautiful and unique vintage decorative ceramic bird-house/birdcage made in
Italy. There are no maker's marks or other identifying features. Overall white
ceramic with a pink to red floral pattern and actual metal bars on the windows.
It has a swinging door that opens and inside is a multicolor ceramic parrot
sitting upon a wooden perch. It measures 9.5" tall by 5.75" wide. Initially
this decorative piece had a brass hanging ring at the top however please note
the ring is missing as shown in photos. It is however footed at the bottom so
it makes a nice table-top piece or the brass hanging ring could be replace by
the new owner. As for condition, it does have some issues: 2 of the thin metal
bars comprising the cage are missing at the back of the piece, so are largely
unnoticeable when displayed (2nd to last photo) and the swinging door does have
a couple of chips at the corners (last photo). I have taken these issues into
account with my opening bid price.
