If you would like to install the tile in a backsplash, you will need to remove the backing. To do so, soak the tile in warm water, this will loosen the glue holding the backing. Remove the backing and install as your would any other wall tile. 

 Great Gift Item! Crackled glaze appearance is a normal characteristic of this art form. It adds to the look of the tile but does not affect the tile's integrity.
