Large luminous 8.85 CTS natural black opal cabochon originating from Ethiopia. This measures approximately 17.3 x 12.3 x 8.8 mm and is cut into a pear shape.

This stone has an amazing neon - like green flash of color that lights up the whole surface. There is also a multitude of rainbow colors that can be seen on certain angles including a desirable blue tone that is highly prominent. As with all opals, the colors are most intense when viewed under a light source, either artificial or sunlight.

This is a naturally earth mined gemstone and has been smoke treated to enhance color. Don't be fooled by lesser imitations. This is not a doublet or filled product, this is solid earth mined stone.
