These three postcards were produced by
Cameo Stamps Ltd of London, marking the special stamps issued by Royal Mail for
Christmas 1970. The images came from the de Lisle Psalter in the Arundel
Collection at British Museum. Affixed to each card is the corresponding postage
stamp, cancelled with special “First Day of Issue” mark – 25 November 1970 –
for Bethlehem, Llandelio, Carmenthenshire. It is an interesting historical fact
that these stamps were the last to be issued with “old money” values. In February
the following year UK converted to £p (new pence).
