Long shaped 17.95 CTS natural golden star Sunstone cabochon originating from Norway. This measures approximately 23.6 x 12.0 x 7.9 mm and is cut into an oval shape.

This stone has a large bright visible star caused by asterism. This phenomenon causes a moving star of light to travel across the surface of the gem when exposed to a light source, either artificial or sunlight.

There is also a noticeable Schiller effect causing an aventurescent shimmer of metallic flashes of different colors.

The coloring is a vivid and fascinating orange /gold and has been polished to a brilliant sheen. Indeed part of the reason these are our favorite type of asterism stone is due to the unique color.

The gem is in basically mint condition with no notable damage or chips. There is some very slight variations on the bottom of the stone as shown in pictures, although being on the underside should be of no concern.
