A superb and rare photo of the famous BMW factory rider “Wiggerl” Kraus on the BMW RS 500 Rennsport worksracer in 1951. Kraus is seen standing next to the new RS 500 just before the start of the 1951 edition of the famous German “Grenzlandring”.

Wiggerl Kraus was one of BMW’s most famous factory racing riders. He had a fast yet very secure riding style. Kraus’ BMW was the new factory racer of 1951. It was developed out of the famous pre-war Kompressor BMW racer (with which Georg “Schorsch” Meier won the 1939 edition of the Isle of Man 500cc Senior TT), but it had to perform its duty without the Supercharger, as they were banned in international racing after World War II.

The BMW RS Rennsport racers have an honorary place amongst the most famous racing machines of the Golden Era of Roadracing, the 1950’s.

It is a very nice photo, that reflects a wonderful era of BMW’s rich history in a wonderful way. This is your rare chance to own this photo, therefore it is printed in a nice large format of ca. 8" x 12" (ca. 20 cm x 30 cm).
