DESCRIPTION

A limited edition work, an India Proof Edition limited to one thousand copies, of which this is numbered four-hundred and sixty-three.

A very smart copy of this volume of India Proofs engraved by the prolific Victorian era wood-engravers, The Brothers Dalziel.

Illustrated with thirty plates, engraved by the Dalziel brothers, after the work of British watercolourist and illustrator Myles Birket Foster. Collated, complete.

The views in this volume are all charming picturesque rural scenes, such as 'The Mill', 'The Fram-Yard', 'The Watering-Place', 'At the Cottage Door', 'Under the Moonbeams', and 'The Village Churchyard'.

With plates interspersed with leaves of verse from Tom Taylor, this is a charming celebration of English landscapes.
