This is a listing for a vintage Sharp TRIMATE 5000 - TV AM/FM Stereo Radio Cassette Recorder Boom Box. This vintage unit is just a monster, measuring in at approximately 22in. long - 13in. high (without handle extended) and 7½ in. thick. It weighs in at  approximately 25lbs. empty of batteries  Unit comes to you in  used, fair to good overall condition showing some  definite signs of age, use and storage wear. We have tested the unit with the included power cord and the TV turns on but just showed static, the speakers crackle when the volume controls are moved but we could not get anything to come in on the AM, FM or tape deck.

The unit is missing the knob on the right side to change the radio stations (but a screw driver can be stuck in and turned that way)  and there are some end caps missing on some of the slides on the top of the unit. The radio light still works on the dials on both sides when the button is pressed. Carry handle is present but unfortunately both of the extendable antennas were broken out of the unit in the past. Battery compartment is overall clean just some foam dust from the old foam falling off the battery cover and battery cover is included. The contacts inside also look clean (see pictures). All tests for this this unit were done using the included plug. Unfortunately we did not have "D" cell sized batteries to test the radio with battery power, so we never tested it with batteries. 

Tape deck door has broken off and is lost. In tape mode we could not get a tape to play, and the "play mechanics" do not lock in when the PLAY button is pressed. However both the Fast Forward and reverse functions work on the tape deck, as does the counter. 

The unit itself is overall clean just showing some minor dust and some age / use wear marks on the body. There is breakage where the antennas uses to be, the tape deck door is missing and we were only to get limited things to function on this unit. These are very rare sought after units and this one would be a very nice addition to any collection to use for parts and restoration.
