Open, Connect, Balance, or "Openness to building relationships and connecting to balance" is the main theme of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Conference hosted by Thailand in 2022.

APEC is a platform to promote economic co-operation, consisting of 21 leading economic zones. It aims to promote economic expansion and create a sense of community participation in the Asia-Pacific region.

For this year, "Chalom", a Thai bamboo basket was the inspiration behind the design of the APEC 2022 logo. The interlocking bamboo stands act as a link between 21 economic zones, which is strong, flexible, cohesive,
and durable to support both the Thai and global economy to be stable, prosperous and sustainable.

The logo was designed by Mr. Chawanon Wongtrakuljong, an architectural student at Chulalongkorn University.
