Antique Chinese Bamboo Carved Rosewood Wedding Basket Jewelry Sewing Game Chest.

This is a really great piece with loads of charm. Not sure of the age but looks really antique/vintage. Research indicates it’s most likely from early to mid 1900, based on other listings of the same or similar chest.

The top has paint wear as shown that gives it character. This top piece lifts off and has a storage compartment. There are two small drawers just below and two larger ones. Features most likely brass hardware - all there. The sides feature lovely carved detail on what is most likely rosewood. The back is woven in a nice stylized design. The very bottom small strip of wood in the back could use an extra tiny nail or two as it is coming off the chest a little.

Nice handle can be used up or down behind the chest. Wear as normal for an aged piece - dings here and there with some extra wear to the top and underneath the top piece that lifts off’s paint/finish. If displayed on a taller chest, wouldn’t be seen or you could fix the top up. Top at back small strip of wood has a little bend to it in a small area. See pics for condition details. Makes a great storage piece for lots of stuff. I’m thinking jewelry, games prices like chess, cards or a fishing lure or other collectibles.
