SENSATIONAL SET OF 4 RARE DON SHEIL GOBLETS!

Presenting an exceptional set of four never before seen goblets masterfully hand crafted and signed by the renowned Australian Silversmith, Don Sheil in 1976.

This exquisite set are like none we have seen or owned in the past and we can find no documentation on these marvelously unique and scarce pieces dating to the early period of Don Sheil production.

This stunning set been crafted in an appealing Gothic style with a star shaped webbed foot leading to a facetted column stem and curved bowl finished with a wonderfully rugged texture. The front face of each cup is adorned with mystical symbols which may have been a custom design, perhaps for a religious, masonic group or secret society of some sort.

An etched ribbon features to the reverse side of the cup, and each ribbon contains a number and the date of creation. The 4 cups we are offering for sale are numbered from 6 to 9 with the date of creation being 1976.

These pieces have been crafted in Don Sheil unique metal alloy which creates a sparkling silver-toned piece which is wonderfully durable and does not tarnish.

Darkening to the recesses of the rugged texture and symbols to the cup adds superb definition to the design.

These superb goblets have thick black leather applied to their base to protect the surface on which they sit, one of which has been removed and lost.

SIZE: Each goblet stands approx 225mms tall and measures 75mms in diameter at the top rim.

CONDITION: This exceptional set of 4 Don Sheil goblets are presented in excellent vintage condition with no big unsightly scratches, breaks or losses. As mentioned, one of the 4 goblets has lost its leather covering to its base. One of the goblets has the slightest dent to the top rim, noticeable only on close inspection. There are some exceptionally light and fine surface scratches noticeable only on extremely close examination and far less than would reasonably be expected with pieces of this vintage. These goblets appear to have had only minimal use, have been very well cared for and present spectacularly.

MARKS: Each of these impressive goblets is signed to the upper side of the cob web shaped foot "Don Sheil".
