I have designed a full conversion kit for the Airfix 1/72 Lancaster to fit the following kits from 2012 onwards. A09007, A50138, A08013, A50139, A08013A, A50158, A50182 & A09007A

This will fully convert the standard Mk3 main force or the Mk3 type 464 ‘Dambuster’ to the Grand slam Lancaster Mk1 Special that carried the 22,000lb earthquake bomb.

The kit includes;

 A full replacement under fairing which also replaces the standard cockpit floor from the kit, a nose turret delete, the grand slam bomb in two parts and the ring that holds the grand slam to the aircraft plus improved details in the bomb aimers compartment.

The fins on the rear part of the grand slam come pre assembled, these are set at the correct 5 degree angle as originally designed by Barnes Wallis.

Sanding and filling will be required, this conversion is advanced/expert level, the ribs on the bomb bay will need to be removed and sanded down for this kit to fit perfectly. 

The kit has holes and seat posts for the main spar, Nav and radio operator seats, and pilot deck including location hole for the instrument panel.

These holes may need to be manually drilled slightly bigger using a hand drill.

The photo of the grand slam and the full Airfix kits are not included, these are for reference only.

Epoxy/superglue will be required to stick the parts together, all parts can be sanded and painted, please wear a respirator while sanding resin products

All conversion kits are printed to order, a visual inspection will be completed before each kit is shipped to ensure it's perfect!
