This listing is for an antique original Watercolor Painting by Annie Hall. It is hand signed and dated 1895. It is in excellent condition for its age, with beautiful colors & a lovely folk victorian style. It depicts a snowy rural Appalachian cabin scene, with lonely mountains stretching into the background under a dusky sunset. In the foreground lonely trees stand leafless, guarding the cabin behind them, and the small stream that winds beside them towards the viewer. A small bridge marks a path towards the humble abode, which has a gentle stream of smoke drifting from its chimney.

Unfortunately I have not been able to find much of anything about this artist. This painting, and another by the same artist but dated 1894 (also listed for sale on my page), were sourced from the opulent estate of a wealthy Pittsburgh family. They had been in the family for over a hundred years at least, and may have been directly purchased from, or given by, the artist themselves. Annie Hall of course calls to mind “Portrait of Annie Hall” by Jan Toorop, but this is likely not the artist he pictured. In any case, these paintings are excellent antique works of art for display, home decor, gifting, galleries and more. Please see photos for details & measurements, comes as shown.
