For sale is a rare antique late 18th to early 19th Century silhouette portrait with original wooden frame. The portrait is not cut with paper, but instead drawn with ink to simulate the paper cut effect. It contains hand drawn highlights with gilt paint and pencil. The gentleman's attire reflect the respectful fashion of his period. The art work is well done to depict all the details.

The frame measures approximately 6.5” by 5.5”. The hanging hoop on the top of the frame features a golden acorn design. It is original and in good condition. The area under the gentleman's bust is whiter than usual. Upon close inspection, it is not a stain or damaged condition. It appears that the artist may have painted that area white originally. Please check all photos for detailed condition.

Overall, a rare-to-find early American silhouette art in well preserved condition. It should not be passed by any serious collectors for antique primitive/ early Americana/ Antique portrait art objects.
