On offer, we have the complete boxed set of Taschen's "Marilyn Monroe" by Andre De Dienes. This collection includes:1. "Marilyn" by Andre De Dienes edited by Steve Christ and Shirley T. Ellis de Dienes. This book is number 14849 out of an edition of 20,000. Published in June 2002, it has a pictorial hardcover in a silk-like cloth. It is fully illustrated in color and black and white with silver typed text. The 233 glossy page book (plus credits) measures 15 3/4" X 12 3/4". The book appears to be pristine except for a smudge and fingerprints on the white back cover.
2. "Photo Andre De Dienes" is a soft cover black bound book with an elastic band. This is a lovingly written type of diary about photographing Marilyn Monroe for decades. The book is 9" X 7" X 1 1/4". The back cover has a 1" tear on the edge.
3. "Sunbathing Review" from Fall 1958 is a booklet of Magazine covers and advertisements featuring Marilyn Monroe. It is 8 3/4" X 6 3/4". The pages are not numbered. It is in pristine condition.
4. "Taschen" Fall 2002 is a 12" X 8 1/4" magazine still enclosed in sealed cellophane. Can't see the contents, but the back cover looks like a page from the De Dienes diary. It is still new.
5. The original box with a shadow box-like interior that fits the books perfectly. The box has some wear on the edges. a torn corner and inside, it has some scuffs. The box measures 19 1/2" X 16 1/4" X 3".
I believe this is in very good +++ condition. I found no writing, bookplates or damages to the books from long storage. As I am not an expert on rare books, please see my photographs for more description. This weighs 12 pounds 5 ounces. This is from my friend who collects everything and is moving to a much smaller home. Now, he is starting to part with a few of his treasures.
