Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Matthaus Merian' after 'Claes Jansz. Visscher'. This engraving is published by Claes Jansz. Visscher, 1634. The Visschers were a renowned family of mapmaker and atlas and print publishers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The founder of this dynasty was Claes Jansz. Visscher (Latin: N.J. Piscator; lived 1587-1652), a skillful artist, engraver and etcher, besides his very succesful publishing activities.

Condition: Very good, given age. Original middle fold, as issued. Browned near the middle fold. Sheet overall a little discoloured. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
