This is an original antique, (hard to find) 7 1/2 inch tall, size, wide-eyed, "IRISHMAN", printed cloth soft-stuffed boy, BELLHOP doll, designed by Palmer Cox. Copyrighted 1892 by Palmer Cox* he is wearing his still clearly printed, short fitted jacket with gold button closures, cap, long socks and the original printed *patent information on his brown shoes as shown in the attached photos. He also is a seldom found character in this series of twelve dolls by Arnold Print Works as many of these charming dolls have faded over the years. He has good color, slight fading, no damages and no repairs and no odors as he is from a smoke free home. He would make an excellent addition to any vintage or antique cloth doll collection and one of the most popular in this original series of twelve.
