George Gordon Byron, more widely known as Lord Byron, was a British nobleman, poet and leading figure in the Romantic movement, often regarded as one of the greatest British poets. Byron was renowned, rather notoriously as being the most flamboyant of the major Romantics, notorious for his aristocratic excesses (which included huge debts) and numerous love affairs with both men and women. Beyond this however, Byron wrote prolifically throughout his lifetime and remains widely read and influential.

Whilst several of these volumes contain one lengthy work by Byron (such as 'Childe Harold's Pilgrimage' and 'Beppo and Don Juan'), the other volumes contain an impressive array of both poetry and prose works, detailed as follows:
'Tale and Poems', containing: 'The Giaour', 'Bride of Abydos', 'The Corsair', 'Lara', 'Siege of Corinth', 'Parisina', Prisoner of Chillon', 'Mazeppa' and 'The Island'.
'Dramas' Volume I, containing: 'Manfred', 'Marino Faliero', 'Heaven and Earth', and 'Sardanapalus'.
'Dramas' Volume II, containing: 'Two Foscari', 'Cain', 'Deformed Transformed', and 'Werner'.
'Miscellanies' Volume I, containing: 'Hours of Idleness', 'English Bards and Scotch Reviewers', 'Hints from Horace', 'The Curse of Minerva', 'The Waltz', 'Ode to Napoleon Buonaparte', 'Hebrew Melodies', 'Domestic Piece', 'Monody on the Death of the Right Hin. R. B. Sheridan', and 'The Dream'.
'Miscellanies' Volume II, containing: 'The Lament of Tasso', 'Ode on Venice', 'The Morgante Maggiore of Pulci', 'The Prophecy of Dante', 'Francesca of Rimini', 'The Blues', 'The Vision of Judgement', 'The Age of Bronze', and 'Occasional Pieces 1807-1824'.
