By replacing the the old SPDIF receiver (CS8412) and Digital Filter (PMD100) ICs with the latest, 24bit compatible CS8414 and DF1706 respectively your DAC becomes absolutely top notch and will run circles around the latest 1Bit Delta-Sigma low cost offerings. The upgrade offers not only the latest specs but also huge improvement in sound quality!

Upgrading these D/A converters is very easy since all important IC's are mounted in sockets, so the whole procedure involves simply pulling the right ones out and replacing them with the appropriate adapter board.


Parasound DAC-1100 and DAC-1600 become fully 24bit/48kHz compatible after the upgrade. HDCD decoding is deactivated with the upgrade.
