'Back to the Egg' was Wings' seventh and final studio album, released in June 1979 on Columbia Records in the United States and Parlophone in the United Kingdom. Co-produced by Chris Thomas, the album reflects band leader Paul McCartney's embrace of contemporary musical trends such as new wave and punk, while new Wings members Lawrence Juber and Steve. ・It was to announce the appearance of Holly. Recording for the album began in June 1978 and lasted for almost a year. Sessions took place at Spirit of Lanachan Studios in Campbelltown, Scotland, Lympne Castle in Kent, Abbey Road Studios in London and Replica Studios. The album entered the top 10 worldwide and was certified platinum in the United States. The single "Getting Closer" reached the top 20 in the UK and US. "Theme from Rockestra," recorded with guest musicians from bands such as The Who, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, won the 1980 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
