George Forrest, Bob Wright, Edvard Grieg ‎– Song Of Norway (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Classical LP (1971)

Superb British 1st release.

Music and lyrics by George Forrest and Bob Wright (adapted from music by Edvard Grieg).

Musical supervision and conducted by Roland Shaw with the London Symphony Orchestra.

Based on the Life and Music of Edvard Grieg.

The film (1970, dir. Andrew L. Stone) starred Toralv Maurstad as Grieg and featured an international cast including Florence Henderson, Christina Schollin, Robert Morley, Harry Secombe, Oskar Homolka, Edward G. Robinson, and Frank Porretta (as Rikard Nordraak).

This album has never had a CD release so this remains the only source for this soundtrack.

Condition

VINYL: EX. Both sides look superbly clean on visual inspection. No obvious signs of marks, hairlines or scuffs. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is great. Some very mild surface noise at run-ins and a couple of clicks in track 1, but vocals are bright. Plays with no skipping, jumping or sticking. A fabulous listen.

OUTER SLEEVE (COVER): EX. Colours are bright and clean. Fantastic laminated front. Minor creasing in from edges and spine. Corners, spine and edges in great shape. Aperture unworn/unscuffed but with a light band of soiling. Back of sleeve has no obvious defects beyond light soiling to inner edges of flipbacks. Intact. Overall a superb example.

INNER SLEEVE: EX. Original. White paper with rounded corners. Minor creasing but clean and intact.
