One cent, yellow green, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) in Highland dress, from the British American Bank Note Co. (Montreal) re-issue of 1887 to 1898, engraved, no watermark, perf. 12.0x12.0. Printed in 1898 on stout, crisp, yellowish wove paper with horizontal mesh, yellow gum. NOTE: new evidence indicates that there were no 1c green Prince of Wales stamps printed in 1896. Excellent color and appearance, well centered. Approximately 50% of original gum disturbed by previous hinging, hinge remnants. Perf tip in lower right corner appears to be missing..
