Subject: Plate : 'De Koning en Koningin van Belgie'. This plate shows a portrait of the King Leopold II and his Queen of Belgium. Leopold II (1835 - 1909) was the second King of the Belgians, and is chiefly remembered for the founding and exploitation of the Congo Free State as a private venture. Dutch text on verso.
Condition: Good. General age-related toning and light staining. Please study scan carefully.
