Analog synthesizer circuit + digital multi engine.

The MULTI ENGINE consists of 2 VCOs + MULTI ENGINE, 1 VCF, 2 EGs, 1 VCA, and 1 LFO, and features the same wave shape that forms the overtones of the oscillator, a sync/ring switch, and other circuits common to the series, as well as cross modulation, a sharp 2-pole low-pass filter, and a drive switch to add fatness to the sound. A drive switch is also included to add fatness to the sound. The sound covers all variations, from pads with the warmth of analog to fat basses to clear leads.

In addition to the two analog VCOs, a third oscillator, the Multi-Engine, offers the charm of a digital sound. With three different sound source types (Noise, VPM, and User Slot), this engine offers a different sonic character than its analog counterparts and can be run in conjunction with the analog engine to expand the possibilities for hybrid sound creation to an infinite extent.

High-quality digital effects.

High-quality digital effects with 32-bit float processing further refine the sound of the minilogue xd module. Three simultaneous systems of modulation effects, reverbs, and delays are available, and you can choose from a wide range of variations, including chorus, ensemble, warm tape delays, and versatile reverbs. The user effects slot can also be loaded with your own effects programs.

User customization for unlimited possibilities.

The minilogue xd module offers an open environment for customization: 16 user oscillator slots and 16 user effect slots are preloaded on the unit for customization. Oscillator and effect programs created with the SDK (Software Development Kit) can be loaded into the main unit via dedicated librarian software.

Polyphonic step sequencer.

The 16-step step sequencer is a key feature of the minilogue xd series. Every factory preset program contains a single embedded sequence pattern to inspire ideas.

The step sequencer supports both real-time and step REC, with 16 directly selectable step buttons for quick editing and improvisational performance, such as replacing or muting step sounds. Motion sequencing, which stores up to four knob movements for time-based sound changes, can store not only continuous value changes, but also intermittent values for each step. Since each step can be arranged to create a different sound, for example, drum patterns and sound effects can be created from a single program, the possibilities for use are endless.

The 16 buttons can also function as a one-octave keyboard when the Keyboard mode is set to On, making it convenient to check the sound.

Poly-chain support.

The minilogue xd module can be combined with the minilogue xd series (*1) (*2) to enable poly assignment settings. By setting the master (main) and slave (slave) controls, the minilogue xd module can be used as an 8-voice polyphonic synthesizer (*3), making it suitable for a variety of uses, including as an additional voice source for the minilogue xd or as a sound source for a DAW-based production system.

*1:Models with keyboard are available on System v1.1 or later.
*2: Any combination of xd and xd module is possible.
*3: Two xd units can each produce 4 voices, for a total of 8 voices. The master side has priority over the slave side, and the fifth and later voices are assigned to the slave side.
