What are cleaning cartridges? These are alternative cartridges that are filled with cleaning fluid instead of ink. When are cleaning cartridges needed? The cleaning cartridges can remove impurities from the print head that lead to an unclean print image (e.g. streaking), thus helping to achieve a better print image. Please don't expect miracles. Damaged or worn print heads cannot be “repaired” even by cleaning. Regular use of cleaning cartridges can extend the life of the print head. How are cleaning cartridges used? Almost every printer offers a “print head cleaning” option in the printer menu. This is otherwise done with normal ink. Before this cleaning, change the cartridges and insert the cleaning cartridges. Repeat the process if necessary. Then put the normal ink cartridges back into your printer. (Please note that opened ink cartridges should not be left outside the printer for more than 30 minutes.) After a few prints, which may be necessary. are still a little pale, the cleaning is complete and you can print normally again.
