original negative, taken during the French Bol d'Or endurance races which were
ridden on the circuit of

Even though the factory did not oficially field an
endurance racing team at the time, some factory linked employees like Bruno
Scola and Luciano Gazzola did. They used parts that were manufactured
(for them) in Guzzi's experimental department, many of which dated back to the
racing days of the V7 Sport Telaio Rosso of which the endurance racing version
of the Le Mans directly was derived from. They were the only ones with
that "factory connection", hence why there bikes are regarded as
factory bikes by motorcycle historians.
The picture shows nice detail of the bike and is very
