The Three Musketeers (Cast Dramatisation of Alexandre Dumas' Classic Novel) LP (1951)

Very rare (and possibly one-of-a-kind?) Decca release.

The classic Alexandre Dumas tale get dramatised in this production starring Douglas Fairbanks Jr, with Michael Goodliffe, Hector Ross and Lewis Stringer.

Adapted by Laurence Maraschal and Barbara Trevore.

Directed by Howard Rose, produced by Monty Bailey Watson.

Condition
VINYL: F. Very clean on visual inspection with just a few hairlines and scuffs. Played just pre-listing and there is surface noise and crackling throughout. The actors’ vocals sound a little muffled in places – though there are brighter episodes – so the output volume needs to be turned up to compensate.
OUTER SLEEVE/COVER: VG. Colours are unfaded and clean. Gloss tape has been added to the edges by a previous owner so corners, edges and spine are protected. A few marks here and there to cover but nothing major. Reverse side is stained and soiled in places. The lower flipback is torn but not entirely detached. A number of stains appear on the left side mainly in the cast listing area. A stamp bearing 'NT' (National Theatre?) in the margin near the top right corner, with some pencil wording below. In bottom right corner, there is residue where a sticker once was. This has left a small tear.

INNER SLEEVE: VG. White Decca poly-lined sleeve with centre hole and blue text one side. Minor folding and creasing and a short rip along one edge.
