Gentlemen,

Introducing this ONE-OF-A-KIND grouping that belonged to the distinguished 1st Lt. Philip John E. Naab, an esteemed B-24 pilot during WWII that was assigned to the renowned 319th Bomb Squadron "Asterperious," part of the famous 90th Bomb Group "Jolly Roger," from the 5th Air Force.

From August 16, 1944, to September 2, 1945, Lt. Naab fearlessly served in the South-West Pacific, navigating through the treacherous skies over the Bismarck Archipelago, New Guinea, Southern Philippines, and Luzon. His squadron's heroic missions ranged from supporting the New Guinea Campaign to audacious long-range raids on oil refineries in Borneo. In a display of unwavering courage, they ventured to the Philippines, relentlessly supporting ground forces on Luzon, launching daring attacks on Formosa's industrial targets, and strategically bombing railways, airfields, and harbor facilities across the Asiatic mainland. As the war reached its climactic conclusion, Lt. Naab's squadron relocated to Okinawa, poised to strike the heart of the Japanese home islands. Even after VJ Day, they flew reconnaissance missions over Japan and ferried Allied prisoners of war from Okinawa to Manila.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions, Lt. Naab was bestowed with the Air Medal, 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, 4 Bronze Stars and Philippine Liberation Ribbon.
