DESCRIPTION
This is a gorgeous vintage prom dress from the 1990s made in the USA by Jessica McClintock Gunne Sax. The outer layer of the dress is made out of black floral lace. There is a layer of white satin underneath the lace, and the dress also has a polyester lining. The dress is strapless, and there is a band of black satin with a bow accent around the neckline. The dress has a drop waist, and the skirt has a flared cut. The skirt also has a layer of chiffon with black tulle at the bottom. The dress closes with a zipper down the back.
PLEASE NOTE: In the photo of the back of the dress, the zipper is not completely up. That is because the dress was a tad too small for my mannequin. The zipper works just fine!
SIZING
The tag labels this a size 5, but vintage sizes tend to run smaller than modern sizes. I believe this dress would best fit a modern Juniors size Extra Small. The actual measurements are as follows:
Bust: 15 inches across, underarm
to underarm (30 inches around. There are bust darts just below this that
expand the bust slightly. For reference, my mannequin has a 32 inch
bust, and this dress was just a tad too small for her in the chest.)
Natural Waist: 12 inches across (24 inches around, measured at the narrowest
part of the bodice)
Drop Waist: 14.5 inches across (29 inches around, measured at the seam
between the bodice and the skirt)
Hips: 19.5 inches across (39 inches around. This is the measurement for the lining.)
Length: 29 inches from the top of the dress to the hem
Note: These are the actual measurements of the garment, so please leave yourself room for comfort of movement. All measurements were taken with the item laying flat. The flat measurements were doubled to give an approximate measurement around.
CONDITION
This dress is in excellent condition.

I go to the post office every week day, Monday - Friday. I typically ship items out one business day after I've received payment, so if I receive payment on Friday, your item will go in the mail Monday (although if I receive payment early enough, I might get it in the mail the same day). If you need an item to be shipped right away, just let me know and I will do my best to get it out to you as soon as possible!

Clothing Condition:
The large majority of the items in my store are vintage and/or pre-owned. I will list any major flaws in the item description. However, most vintage clothing has been around for several decades or more, and it may have some minor snags in the fabric, the occasional loose thread or other minimal signs of wear. Vintage items may also have raw seams that have not been serged. By purchasing, you are accepting that these items are used and may not be 100% perfect.
